Latest advice on converting wired to wireless Car Play / Android Auto

I've reviewed past posts, but technology moves on. Has anybody recently bought a device to convert their 2018 onwards touch screen In Control system from wired to wireless Apple Car Play or Android Auto, and can confirm that it works well? I'm looking at the latest Carlinkit (version 5) which seems well reviewed:

Looking to fit to an about-to-buy 2019 P380 AWD.

Many thanks.

I used that company - no complaints

i have google maps, wireless carplay etc

everything else still works in the old Jag system, backup camera and all the other menus
the only thing you lose is the factory sat nav as that is the button that switches you to the new unit functionality

I use this and it works faultlessly so far
Android Auto Wireless Adapter,... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0DLB73MYD?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Thank you. My link, and that of JonGreen don't appear to work, but I'm not after a firm to work on my car, just a simple plug and play device which will fit into the USB port of my car. Once the phone is connected to it by Bluetooth, it should provide CarPlay or Android Auto...quite a choice on Amazon for £60 or so

Sorry, it was a link to an android auto wireless adapter which I purchased from Amazon, £39.99. It's now sold out so the link has gone but it works really well. You simply plug it into the USB port and it a creates a WiFi connection to your phone which I think is what you're looking for.
Regards

NickN, which dongle did you go for in the end and would you recommend it?

Also a question for anyone, this might be phone specific but if the phone connects to an android auto / carplay dongle via Bluetooth then can it still connect to a bluetooth obd connector at the same time? - I'm wanting to removing the hassle of putting the phone in the cubby hole whilst also using torque pro to monitor temps etc

I use AA Wireless Two device for Android auto and it works flawlessly, not sure if you can connect the OBD dongle at the same time.
The AA Wireless Two adapter is difficult to get hold of at times and is currently out of stock atm, there is a link below just in case there is any in stock.
If not there is a dongle from Motorola that is also excellent currently £69.99 on Amazon (link also included).

For info, I went for the Calinkit 5 and it works well. Connects fine and on a day trip yesterday of 4 hours driving there were no drop outs for the satnav so seems stable. It also does android and apple.

I was also keen on the aa wireless 2 after seeing good reviews, but it wasn't available and I was impatient. It is now available (just a few weeks later) but I'm happy with the carlinkit as the aa wireless is only android though that wouldn't have been very limiting for me.

If anyone else is looking, this year they plan to release the aa wireless 2+ that does both android and apple but I have no need to change.
