I'm in the process of looking for a used F-type, the car will ultimately be either a 2013 or 2014 convertible so will either have gone beyond the original three-year warranty or just about be reaching it.<div><br></div><div> I know if I buy the car through a main dealer I will get 24 months warranty.</div><div>I might however end up buying privately or through a non-franchised dealer, I'm just wondering therefore if anyone has any experience in extending their warranty and roughly what sort of costs were involved?</div><div><br></div><div>I'm aware the warranty extension is based on mileage and some companies also base their quotes on whether there has been previous warranty claims, so each case I'm sure will be different. I'm just trying to work out roughly what sort of budget I should be looking for if I do end up buying one privately.</div><div><br></div><div>Does anyone know if Jaguar insist that the warranty is extended before the three-year deadline or whether they are happy to add a warranty to a car that is gone beyond the 3 years? Have this problem with BMW once before, but I know they now will add a warranty even if the previous ones expired.</div><div><br></div><div>If it helps, it will most likely be a V8S and I'm looking for one with no more than 20,000 miles on it.</div><div><br></div><div>I hope someone out there might be able offer some friendly advice. Thank you.</div>
