Can anyone recommend a specialist or independent Jaguar service centre near Gloucester ?
Personally I've always favoured the specialists over main dealers as the quality of work tends to be much higher, or am I incorrect in this instance as dealers do vary.

Might be too far but I used Mike Allen Services yesterday, based next to train station in Swindon. They were very helpful, ordered the part in advance, in case needed, based on my obd2 error code.

I used them based on others recommendations. Seemed good to me but was a simple sensor change.

Alternatively you can search the following register and put in postcode at bottom, though Sovereign Motors may come up and when I called them he said he was retiring.

Can't help with the recommendations (Southampton is a bit of a trek from Gloucester!) but you're right about a decent independent being better than most, if not all, main dealers. And you won't be paying main dealer labour rates, either, which is a major win.

100% independent my local JLR main dealer done a diagnostics come back with I needed a new TCU as I had the SoS limited functionality fault on the dash quoted £1500 for the part then £250 an hour labour cost they told me it would take 4 hrs to replace £2500. Took the car to my independent guys the SoS fault was to do with the Ariel all fixed with my 3rd party warranty. Didn’t cost a penny as the garage I brought the car off sorted it due to me only having the car 5 months. I’ll never go JLR ever again! What makes it worse I contact the main dealer to tell them the story and the poor service from them and they didn’t even apologise or contact me.

I can highly recommend Julian Ferraro, Jaguar Independent Specialist, at Wilton, Nr. Salisbury. - 01722744059 - but I think they will be too far away from you. If you book a prearranged time, they will try to do the work while you wait.

If you want an independent, as already stated Mike Allen Swindon. As your car is still within manufacturer’s warranty, if you want a good main dealer, Dick Lovett Melksham.
