Independent service specialist

Hi All
My car is due for a service in July and I don't really have any faith in the local dealer. Does anyone know of an independent specialist in the Coventry area ?
Thanks

Just had the quote for the service from Guy Salmon - £703.54. What on earth will they be doing for that price ??
The car is just coming up to the year four service. It is the basic V6. Even Porsche don't charge that much and their intervals are every two years. Think I will definitely be looking elsewhere for the service.

The four year service is the expensive one.

I've just had it and it involves air filters, spark plugs, the usual service elements and some intercooler bits i think.

The spark plugs take loads of time to get in and out the car apparently. Most of the costs are labour.

Makes the 5 yr service plan look great value ...

Have you sat down and spoken with the service manager? There have been several threads on here where owners have had success with the face to face approach ...

If that doesn't work, maybe buy a Jag Mag from the newsagent and look for indy's listed inside ...

HTH ...

I understand the 24 month and 48 month services are the same and the renewing of the spark plugs only applied to the V6 380PS models.

I think I would ask for their service check list to see what they are including.

Spark plug change is not now required on the 24 month service, it has now been deleted out of the requirements.

After questioning the cost and about to go to a local specialist, Guy Salmon have come back with a price of £523 which is more reasonable. Bearing in mind the car has only done around 17k miles, the plugs shouldn't really need replacing, although they will be.
The local specialist quoted around £400 using genuine Jag parts, I will probably go there once the warranty has run out. (they service the Jag heritage cars).
