Highlands Road Trip 2024

Hi all,

Had my baby 5 weeks and this is my first chance to stretch her legs, if you'll pardon the analogy.

Stopped at sister's in Shrewsbury yesterday and near Loch Lomond this evening (Arrochar Hotel). 502 impeccably behaved miles so far. Average fuel consumption 35mpg. It'll get worse from here of course 🙄

It's a bit on the wet side for photos but you can play "Spot the BRG F-Type" with this one

Heading to Loch Awe for a week in 3 weeks. Hope the weather is kind to you and the midges aren't to bothersome

Love that! We go to our spot near Balmoral every August for 2 weeks. I'd love to take the F-type up on the A93 (Old Military Road) from Pitlochry to Ballater or until Aberdeen. It's a stunning road with views to match.

Thanks WShudds, I'm always looking for new places up here. I'll give that one a go. Ah ! I worked in Aberdeen for 5 years and just twigged Pitlochry and Ballater are nearby. I'm heading up and then back down the west coast this time.

Cheers Delpel. It's not my first time up here and it does make a huge difference if you catch the sun. Fingers crossed for both of us.

Good stuff! We visited the area for the first time in January 2017 and fell in love so much that we bought a timeshare in Ballater and we've been going every year since. There's a lot to see around the area, lovely villages, markets, cafes and breathtaking landscape. We changed our route and go up the A90 from Dundee as the wife gets motion sickness on the A93.

Approaching Glencoe

Sun came out for 10 seconds

Snaps, crackles and popples galore on this brilliant loop at Glencoe. Mpg down to 23.9 👌🏻

Must watch Highlander again soon

This is why I love the Highlands and you should all bring your F-Types here.

Stunning roads + fast car + no traffic = happy me 🥳

Thanks. It's so easy. Go north from Glasgow and just stay on the West Coast all the way to the top. Turn right to get to John O' Groats and then go back exactly the same way. You can't go wrong :D

I've always wanted to go to the Highlands and last weekend finally went, 3 days in Ballachulish. Forgot the reputation of how great the roads are. Barely scratched the surface and sadly was not in the SVR (impoasible with wife, 2 kids and a dog). I will be going again but with the SVR. I was gutted once got to the good roads North of Glasgow.

Today's photoshoot 😂

The sound of the supercharged V6 is just immense. I nailed it through a long narrow tunnel today and it sounded like thunder. I mean REALLY loud and REALLY dirty. Followed immediately by a sweeping right and the blat, crackle, woofle on the overrun was just a total joy. Omg I love this toy 🥳

Yeah, I love when I get it right and hear the series of pops on the overrun at about 4,000 RPMs. It's almost as if the car's clapping saying well done! 😁
