High mileage on newer, or low mileage on older?

I've narrowed my search down to about three cars now, but wanted people's opinion as the mileage differs quite significantly between them.

The one most taking my fancy has 30k miles on a 2016 car, so realistically only a year or two old. Would this put people off?

Other options are a 2015 car with 10k miles on it, but the spec/colour isn't quite as good...

I'll probably have the car for 2 or 3 years, and only do 3-4K miles per year, so would be a 4-5 year old car with around 10k p.a average by the time I come to sell (although that still seems on the high side for a sports car)

So higher mileage will mean things may need replacing quicker, bushes etc. My heart says go down and get it, it's a beautiful car! My head says that's a lot of use out of a year, wait for a similar but lower mileage to come around, you can wait.

my humble opinion - 30K miles is nothing for a modern car - mine had 35k on it when i sold it (just two years old) and it was just run in i reckon - i think cars run better when driven regularly - so if when you come to sell it will have averaged 10k per year thats spot on

I buy cars to enjoy so always tend to go for spec before mileage (within reason).

Get the Jag 2 year extended warranty and you're covered anyway.

I agree with Lunar. I buy a car for the spec and have some flexibility regarding mileage. I have just purchased a 12K December 2015 V6S with high spec, so have a balance. There was a choice to have a 7 month older version of the same car, but in a colour I didn't want with only 5K on it.

The thing is, there is no point driving around in a low mileage car wishing you had higher spec, so I would compromise over the miles based on how many you are likely to do, and find the spec your require.
