Hi there

I’m James and took delivery of my 2019 F Type R a couple of weeks ago. It’s a portofino blue, coupe With ivory/black seats. Not had much chance to drive it properly yet, but have enjoyed airing the cobwebs a couple of times for short drives to the supermarket via the A1. It’s currently safely locked in my garage, plugged into a CTEK and under a dust cover waiting to be driven properly.

It replaces a 2011 XK which I PX’d and a 2019 BMW M140i which got damaged in the February floods and the insurers kindly wrote off. It was a tough decision to lose the XK but Going for another V8 made it easier to decide, losing the other car meant I had options and COVID19 gave me some spare time to browse and do my research. Narrowed options down to either an SVR or a couple of Rs after discounting another option of a BMW M850i.....

Deal done totally online and based on pictures and a video tour! Got it for a good price and reasonable PX.
And I couldn’t be happier.

So far I’ve had the wheels off to tidy up and relacquer the callipers and rotors and put on some new growler wheel nuts I’d got for the XK but not used. Ive also fitted a BlackVue dashcam front and back, with a hardwired battery and then a CTEK comfort adapter in the boot. ((I’ll post separately with pics of those jobs later if anyone is interested; have found posts on here very useful already so thank you)

Hi James, nice looking car, hopefully we can all enjoy our cars soon!

I would be interested in the BlackVue installation, I’ve got one to install from my last car and I can’t find anywhere to install it that I’m happy with!

Looks good! Welcome to the forum, and a very exclusive club. Hope you get to enjoy the car properly soon. ;)

Hi James, lovely looking car, I've got the blackvue 750s dual in my Evoque on a cellink battery, works fantastically, but haven't really worked out how it could fit unobtrusively in the F-Type, so would be very interested in how you've done that too.

Cant wait till we can take them out again properly!

Thanks for the quick replies and welcome.

I’ll start a thread on the BlackVue tomorrow. The front one is to the passenger side of the mirror, to avoid the sensors but is not visible to the driver. Looks ok from outside, but would have preferred to centre it but that didn’t work; luckily the BlackVue is quite small and looks like it’s meant to be there.
Rear was a real pain, and I didn’t want to remove the tailgate trim so a small bit of cable is visible, but it seems ok. I’ve also got the Cellink battery and wired into the rear fuse box and it snugly fits in a pocket in the left side of the boot- no idea what’s meant to be there normally?

Congrats James for this great looking one, wishing you some long and winding drives soon on board.
If it is not too much asking, would love to see some pics of the interior colour combo.
Cheers,

Nice looking car and interesting way to purchase

I put my Blackview in the same place, up behind the rear view mirror on passenger side.
Wiring down to the pillar to passenger footwell junction box.

I’ve added a thread with pictures for fitting the Blackvue dashcam.
