Recently picked my my F Type (S Convertible, Automatic) in Stratus Grey, with red leather interior.<div> </div><div>Absolutely loving it.......</div><div> </div><div>As a driver of Porsche 911 cars (and before that, Boxster) for last ten years, this is my first move away from the German marque and my first ever Jaguar. </div><div> </div><div> </div>

Hi Dan, and welcome to the F-Type Owners club!<div><br></div><div>Would be interested to know your thoughts regarding the Box, 911 and the F. </div><div><br></div><div>Reason I ask is, both me and the other half drove the Box and 911 prior to settling with the F. </div><div>I have tracked the Turbo S at Brands and thrashed a C4S and Box around the streets and dual carriageways of Dorset.</div><div><br></div><div>For us; The 911 felt very accurate on turn in, predicable and a bit sterile to drive. The Box, just left us feeling that it might as well have been a high power MX5, zero character and reasonable handling. The one thing that I did like about the Porshes, was the extra seating, if you can call it that, in the back of the 911.</div><div><br></div><div>If you are that way inclined and search for my posts, you will find a general comparison of all the major similarly priced brands, in real life scenarios, compared to the F.</div>

Thanks all. I will post some photos as soon as possible.<div><br></div><div>As to the Porsche comparisons........</div><div><br></div><div>There is no doubt that the Porsche (by which I am really referring to the 911 recent 991 generation) has very good cornering. The speed at which you can corner is frightening, and I have had to slightly moderate the way in which I corner empty roundabouts in the middle of the night (I often drive home late!) in the F Type. I lost the back end once or twice initially, thinking I was still in the 991.</div><div><br></div><div>Save for that, though, I find the F Type is winning on all other fronts. Maybe one could say the PDK gearbox in the Porsche wins, I am not so sure yet. But it is a lot more fun to drive the F Type; less sterile and predictable. </div><div><br></div><div>As you say, the Porsche does have a bit more storage room - I used to use the backseats flipped down to create a decent amount of storage space.</div><div><br></div><div>Overall, extremely happy with the change indeed!</div><div><br></div><div><br></div>
