My name is Terry and I live in Eastwood Nottinghamshire. <div><br><div>Yesterday I picked up my gorgeous V6S Coupe from Ridgeway at Oxford</div><div><br></div><div>I reach that magic age on March 13th so it was my retirement present to myself. </div><div><img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/uploads/469/F_Type_5.jpg" height="480" width="640" border="0" /><br></div><div>The sun was shining so it was a great drive back with me wearing the biggest smile especially when folks went into swivel neck mode to have a look.</div><div><br></div><div>My previous car was a a Porsche 911 Targa which was a pain in the ass and probably the worst car I have ever owned so I was please to see it go.</div></div><div><br></div><div>I have one stupid question from an old man what actually comes in the tool kit. I have a bottle of sealant, a towing eye and the wheel lock socket and thats it.</div><div>The handbook is very vague. Shouldn't there be a compressor, a wheel brace and jack?</div><div>Any help would be appreciated before I contact the dealer don't want to make an idiot of myself.</div>

Welcome Terry, nice car for a 21 year old.<br /><br />Have a look at the far LHS of the boot. My compressor kit is strapped to the side in a little grey case about 6" square. No jack though as there's no spare.<edited><editID>Jagalot</editID><editDate>2015-03-08 19:47:07</editDate></edited>

Hello from another Terry, and welcome to the FTOC!<div><br></div><div>Lovely looking motor, and no, the days of tinkering under the bonnet are long gone. You need Fort Knox special tools even to get to a spark plug! Luckily they do trust us to top up the fluids though, so you will see the ubiquitous dayglo yellow screw caps under there.</div><div><br></div><div>You should get, as mentioned, a locking wheel key/socket, a bottle of tyre jiz, and a small, but useful 12V compressor.</div><div>It's 2015 - Health and Dafty does not allow savvy and certainly doesn't allow for such risky things as jacking a car up and undoing wheel nuts....whatever next! <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" alt="Wink" title="Wink" /></div><div><br></div><div>Joking aside, top-tip, check the wheel nut torques and the tyre pressures. Two things that regularly seem to pop up from other F-Typers that need attention.</div>

Many thanks for your help.<div>At least know know where to look.<img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley20.gif" border="0" alt="Thumbs Up" title="Thumbs Up" /></div>

Thats great information .<div><br></div><div>Many thanks.<br><div><br></div><div>I am off this week so first job in the morning I will check the torque on those wheel bolts</div></div>

<div>That reminds me....must retire when I'm 21...Darn, too late <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" alt="Wink" title="Wink" /></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>For your info....</div><div><br></div><div><img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/uploads/332/Screen_Shot_2015-03-10_at_12.32.34.png" height="438" width="403" border="0" /><br></div>

I had a Triumph TR6 for 31 1/2 years, sold it last fall and the day my buyers check cleared I ordered my F-Type. 113 long days later it was home in my garage. I ordered the spare tire AND the inflator kit. <br />I needed a garage full of tools and parts to keep the TR6 on the road. And one Saturday morning a month under it with a spanner in my hand. TR6 was fun to drive and work on but at 55 I want a sports car I can drive long distances quickly and in comfort. I can't achieve world domination but I can dominate the road. <br /><br />I absolutely love the fact that my F-Type does not have a dip stick.<br />When I was asked what was under the cover under the bonnet I said it was a "cold fusion reactor developing 75 kilowatts of power"

Welcome Terry, very nice looking car and happy retirement, now you will be so busy you will not know if you are coming or going :-)
