F Type cover

Hi all - I have recently acquired a V6S convertible and absolutely love the car - mine is Polaris white with 20" black Tornados. Unfortunately it has to live outdoors so I am after a cover for the winter months - has anyone any experience of Jaguar's own cover for this car please? Many thanks....
 
Hi Eddie,<br><br>I have the Jaguar cover which I use on my V6S Coupe. It is well made and fits perfectly doing a great job of keeping the elements off the car. It's easy to fit and has a soft cotton type lining so does not scratch the paintwork at all. The car attracts little attention as it is just a car under a cover but the word 'Jaguar' is embossed on the bonnet section. You could easily cover it over with some tape though, if required. <br><br>Before buying I checked out the prices for a tailored cover from a specialist manufacturer and the Jaguar one was broadly comparable, being only a few pounds more. The cover comes with an elasticated cord with eyelets designed to tie down in the event of really high winds but, for normal days, the elasticated ends tuck far enough under the front and back of the car to ensure that the cover stays firmly in place. You also get a storage bag but I wouldn't fancy folding the cover back up again as it is quite large! Finally, there are mirror pockets which fit snugly over the mirrors whether they are power folded or not and even the exhaust pipes are covered on my V6S. Correct - the cover stops UV, rain showers, Ice etc but it is made from a breathable fabric. The cover dries out very quickly after a rain shower and is made up in panels. The seams follow bodylines which aids fitting. I've found that the best way to fit it to the car is to put the mirrors into the pockets on both sides then fit the back under the bumper and exhaust before finally fitting the front part taking care over the front numberplate. You will find that, at first, the cover may appear just a tad too large but it shrinks to fit perfectly after the first shower of rain. That is really reassuring - thank you again - I have to stop driving it to put it on though which will be a challenge!!
 
You can drive with the cover on, just be sure to make the eye holes large enough to see through ;-)<div><br><div>Yep, I agree with the comments; Great fit, good quality, and a git to get on correctly out of the bag.
<div><br></div><div>I haven't watched any videos, however I find I remove the bonnet end first, roll up to the hood, back end next, then ping the ears off the wing mirrors then fold it in half on the roof. It fits in the bag a treat.</div><div><br></div><div>When I'm not looking though, somebody (Cover fairies) seem to take the cover out of the bag, turn it upside down, inside out and back to front, replace it and make it look like I'd just packed it.</div><div>It fools me every time! Causes me unbelievable amount of swearing trying to get it the right way round/up etc - great for onlookers I guess!</div><div><br></div><div><br></div></div></div>

No worries Eddie - In all seriousness, it is good quality. I use mine as a dust guard indoors. If she did go outdoors then I might look at a couple of nice old cotton sheets just as a barrier between the cover and the paintwork on the larger, flatter panels and across the tops of doors.<div><br><div>If you put the cover on with the tiniest amount of dust/contamination on the paintwork then you have a dry sander scenario if the cover moves at all - and it will.</div><div>Depends how OCD one is, and I is :-)</div></div><div><br></div><div>It is criminal to cover ones' F up, that said, it's a bit like a nice fit lady, finely dressed...OMG here I go!</div><div>Doctor!</div>

Eddie, another option is Classic Additions, this is where I had my indoor cover made, they also do external covers. These guys do all of JLR group covers for shows etc. My cover is a work of art !!
