Well I've had the car for a week and finally got around to more detailed inspection (as in all I've done so far is drive it, and smile)

What a transformation! How could the previous owner, or even the dealer, let it get like this?

Better now! Although the other one will have to wait for my arm to recover.

This stuff I can't remember where I got it to be honest - I bought it a while ago for a previous car with chrome exhaust tips

Previous owner of mine has polished through to a copper colour in a couple of small places. The exhaust tips therefore seem to be chrome plated? If so, go easy on the abrasives like solvol.

Bit of WD40 and some elbow power is all you need on the pipes

Never dull works amazing, I used for the first time yesterday and I'm sold. I've experience with a lot of different types of metal polishers and this is really good.

First used Solvol Autosol in the 60’s to polish the alloy engine casings and mega exhausts on Lambretta’s. The tube and branding hasn’t changed, it’s been around for nearly a century and is an excellent product. As already stated, if its a plated component, it is a fine abrasive, so once you’ve cleaned the old crap off switch to something gentler for regular maintenance.

forget the elbow grease, put a cloth on the end of your battery drill, works a treat
