Dealer recommendations

Hi,

I am searching for a good dealership in the East Midlands or within a reasonable distance. Derby are absolutely useless and so are Marshalls in Leicester.

I had a error message on the dash in February, rang Marshalls and booked it in for April, which was subsequently cancelled then rebooked for last week, which they cancelled again. They now tell me the next slot is mid September. I am fuming that they didnt even have the decency to call me back.

The warranty ran out in March and at the time of the first booking I was told it would be honoured.

Any recommendations for a reliable dealer within a reasonable distance to Ashby would be appreciated.
 
I would have recommended Sturgess in Leicester, but appears they are now Marshalls, which based upon your post isn't good.
Shame as a they were an amazing team and serviced my XF then F Type for well over a decade.
 
I realise it’s an hour down the A/M42 from Ashby, but I’d recommend Listers in Shirley (Solihull).
Good communication and friendly service. I recently had a service there and not only were the headlights identified and confirmed as suffering from the condensation problem with both being replaced under warranty, I had a BRG V8 as a courtesy car.

I guess all dealers have their supporters and critics, but I’m happy with Listers.

Just to note that with Tamworth closing a few years ago and Coventry now also closed, dealers in the region will be busier.
 
Always been to Jaguar Derby and never had any issues.
But seems you have had a bad experience.

MGA Jaguar Derby get good reviews. But with negotiations Jaguar Derby are always cheaper and you get a car for the day.

Aren't they still closed for anything other than sales? Last time I was in Burton they were still operating out of the semi-derelict garage in Moor Street, post Derby flooding
 
Get one of these, run the diagnostics and share the results here. DIY diagnostics with community support is no substitute to going to a delaer or specialist but it gives you insights into what's happening and what you can expect the fix to involve.

My diagnostic was carried out by Marshalls in Leicester. They cancelled my booking twice and the earliest they can give me is Setember.

I have used MGA before, but sadly they don't do warranty work. I think I will try Listers as someone suggested.
 
I rang Listers in Solihull. Got the usual story, they are on the phone, they will call you back in half an hour. Didn't happen.

Day 2 rang them to chase them up, same story.

Day 3 still no response.

I despair!

Sorry to hear this after I’ve recommended them. I can only suggest an alternative of booking an appointment online and they’ll then get back to you?
 
I was at Inchcape in Burton this week. Now talking about August for their return to Derby, but I didn't think they sounded overly confident about that.
 
Thanks everyone for your input. The problem is, as I have discovered, is that indepoendants cannot do warranty work.
Listers Solihull said they cant do it under warranty as the problem has been reported to another dealer.
It looks as though I have to go back to Leicester and wait unil September.
