David appleby tuning

I am considering ordering & having fitted by David Appleby engineering, a full tune. 200 cell cats + pulley change & a remap. They are showing around 630 to 640 BHP. What is putting me off is they mention that the EML light can sometimes come on unless programmed out. Surely they would do this when completing the installation. No mention in the blurb though. Question is , has anyone had this done. Don't want to spend all that cash & then get MOT failures due to EML lights being on the dash. Any comments please.

Hello Steve,

Tim had this done a few years ago. I’m sure he will respond when he sees this. He’s had none of the issues mentioned in your OP.

DAE are a quality organisation who many owners have used, including myself, with no issues, no EML lights etc. I follow DAE on IG & they carry out these JLR V6/V8 VAP upgrades all the time. They’ve just done a F-Pace SVR 👍👌

Hi Steve, sorry not been on here for a few days.
Yes i've had the full monty of tuning from vap/dae to the tune of about 650hp, with no issues what so ever.

The pulley swap and tune interests me, is there any downsides? can JLR continue to service ok and perfoem updates?

Not come across any yet! Jaguar serviced & MOT’d my car this year & replaced spark plugs. I specifically request NO updates. Mechanical work only.

Downsides...Grin muscles get severely fatigued. Greater addiction for going for non specific drives... Anywhere. Nope, no downsides really.

The tune and pully can be DIY... Its a doddle... If you have the right tool, which is very specific for the F Type.

JLR can service your car as normal... The age your car is, there's no upgrades, only downgrades.!
Lock your OBD port.
