Morning all, <div><br></div><div>Does anybody know if or when F types will support Apple Car play?</div><div><br></div><div>I noticed on the Apple Website that Jaguar will support it but looking on the Jaguar website it says nothing. </div><div><br></div><div>The Jag website says Icontrol will allow integration with both IOS and Android but thats about it?</div><div><br></div><div>Is there a technical document available or news on the Web ( I have looked) that explains what Jaguars plan for Car Play?</div><div><br></div><div>Regards</div><div><br></div><div>Jagman</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div>

I believe the closest you'll get to Apple CarPlay (or Android Auto, for the droid nerds like me) is the justDrive app.<div><br></div><div>It's basically the Apple and Android automotive solutions wrapped together into one, but obviously customised.</div><div><br></div><div>http://justdrive.net/</div><div><br></div><div>Was originally supposed to be out early 2015 but the website now says Summer 2015.</div><div><br></div><div>Original press release: http://cloudcar.com/assets/docs/JLR_justDrive_111414_US.FINAL.pdf</div><div><br></div><div>Here's another article on it:</div><div>http://www.pcworld.com/article/2851059/jaguar-land-rover-wraps-apple-carplay-and-android-auto-into-its-own-justdrive-app.html</div>

By the way, I've mailed the people at justDrive, a few days back, so if they ever respond, I'll post the reply here.

Thanks for the links and info. <br />Will have a look. <br /><br />Still be good to know what jaguar are planning to do with it. <br /><br />Jagman. <br />

Just updated my IPhone with IOS9 and so had a little play with "Carplay" this is not an option as the F Type does not have voice control, so that's out. I believe the same is for JLR "Just drive" too. I did put the "In Control app" option in my car but, I've pretty much given up on it as I can never seem to get anything to work or if it does it just bombs out after a while, and playing music through it sounds awful! A waste of money me thinks, unless it's just me........<img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley5.gif" height="17" width="17" border="0" alt="Confused" title="Confused" />

Bought my f type coupe a couple of weeks ago.All good so far.<br />I have a 2015 model year so no incontrol apps.<br />So I am fitting a xcarlink media interface with a mirror link.interface total cost is about £350.<br />This will allow full integration of all my android apps for example <br />Google maps and filmonlivetv etc <br />I actually think this is a better value option as you have full access to all your android apps not just the miserly 7 or 8 apps on offer for in control apps. Looking to fit it next week so will post some photos etc of the install etc <br /><br />

Hi kinkajag,<br /><br />Would be very interested to know how you get on, I purposely bought new rather than secondhand as I wanted InControl (I'm a gadget nerd!), but so far, very underwhelming.<br /><br />If I could use my own TomTom app, I'd be very happy.<br /><br />How does the xcarlink work? It plugs into some sort of port in the back? And everything else, all the standard menus and settings, are also still accessible?

Basically you press the nav button on the f type head unit and that opens the mirror link displaying whatever is on your smart phone so you can now get the full free google maps just like the audi tts virtual cockpit etc.<br />Here is the xcar link<br /><br />Multi media interface<br /><br />http://www.xcarlink.co.uk/home.php?cat=45<br /><br />You can phone Jan at xcarlink on 020 3393 4308<br /><br />Mirror link interface link<br /><br /><br />http://www.xcarlink.co.uk/product.php?productid=368&cat=18&page=1<br /><br />Here is a video showing you how easy it is to get access to the rear of the head unit etc its actually for fitment of a rearview camera but clearly shows how to remove the centre console trims etc <br /><br />https://youtu.be/XsOdsZyxFTA<br /><br />Will post photos of the install and results next week<br /><br />The multimedia interface allows for additional inputs so you could add a digital tv tuner for example but for me I will use an app on my phone called filmontv that allows me to stream all the uk tv channels and so much more.<br /><br />While using your smart phone via the mirror link you are still connected via bluetooth for telephone calls etc as the mirror link works via its own wifi hotspot.<br />

Hi Kinkajag,<div>with this carlink mirror link can you please confirm that this systems ONLY mirrors and that one has to control the apps from the phone or can you control your phone apps from the car monitor?</div><div>Thanks</div><div><br></div>
