Boot Space

I know, I know, it's a sports car, but thought you'd be interested in my little experiment at the dealers on Sat.

Firstly, when I got there, their showroom car had a full size golf bag in the boot, complete with clubs!!! Never thought it would take that, funny how seeing the boot out of context the shape and depth seem so impractical, but the reality is slightly different

I then got some funny looks carting a flight bag and 'week' suit case into the show room and trying them - all fit (not together - but 2 flight bags and some soft luggage should be no problem)

Will post pics when back in the UK tomorrow

No that is useful thanks - particularly since most of the reviews I've read highlight boot space (or lack of) as one of the negatives.

2 flight bags and soft luggage fits perfectly. That's what's in our showroom car

Well here you go... apologies again for iPhone quality ;)

This issue with the boot space seems to come from the fact all the press cars had the optional extra space saver wheel, which does fill it up. Why would you want to choose that option?

Hi All,

On a recent F-Type day we was able to get 2 sets of golf clubs in the boot. Its not as small as you would think :)

Kind regards,

Liam

Leaving for 2 weeks touring in the Ftype and luggage presented a problem. I was not impressed with Jaguar fitted luggage looked like it had been bought at Matalan ! Found a firm on web that tailor make but over £400 for 2 soft bags (not leather) there had to be another option. After a lot of searching I have found that two Paul Smith Delmar holders,1 Paul Smith Rucksack and 4 Paul Smith suit holder fit perfectly. (2 holders behind seats and 2 in boot)Total cost £210 and a trial pack confirms I will have enough for 2 weeks not so sure about wife !!

As long as you do not have the spare wheel, the boot is fine, I can get my golf clubs in mine no problem, and if we go away, two flight cases fit fine !

If we go away, two flight cases fit fine !

Out of interest whose cases do you use Jamie.

I am about to test out the quart into the pint pot in the near future and wondered what make you had found was optimal.

Thanks

Dave
Hi Dave
I purchased mine from Debenham's, they are soft cases with wheels and handles. If fact currently I am on a 5 day break in Scotland with my good lady and we have managed to get one case, one camera bag, one suit holder case and another soft bag for lady things, plus two coats and 2 bottles of wine and one bottle of whiskey (purchased today) all in the boot ! If I get a chance tomorrow, I will take some pictures, before and after loading.

Speak soon Jamie

Ok, had a chance yesterday to take a couple of pictures while loading the car, as you can see 4 main bags, the largest of which is the wheelled soft case behind the bells bag, so all of this plus 4 coats, (2 light jackets and two waxed jackets, seeing we are visiting Scotland )

Hope this helps
Best regards
Jamie

Many thanks for taking the photo Jamie, it is appreciated.

Once you get over the fact that your 1,000 litre suitcase will not fit in an F type boot space the common sense approach locks in!

There were a few comments made, when the car was launched, about 'made to fit' cases which may have allowed more stowage but at one heck of a price no doubt.

The soft bags seem to be the best way forward.

Thanks again for taking the time and hope the trip to Scotland went well.

Dave

Hi Gemini,
The Jaguar 5 piece case set for the F type convetible is £500, which is a bit to much, so when visiting the dealers I measured all the cases, 4 of which I then sourced from Debenham's, the 5th case is a tiny thing not worth having. Anyway, I hope this has been of help
Jamie

Morning all
Spent some time last night chucking a couple of small wheeled suitcases , 2 rucksacks & various bags in the boot of mine cos today we're going to try the motor out in Europe. I know it isn't much space but there's space behind the seats too for a few bits. Decided to run the thing in properly so after some autobahn we'll try out the Stelvio pass & eventually end up somewhere in Italy.
Good thing about limited boot space is that it'll keep me & 'er out of the shops. Therefore the conclusion is that the F Type actually saves you money!
