Black Pack

Looking for some help/advice.

I've currently got chrome on my side vents, window surrounds, front grill surrounds etc but think I may prefer the look of the 'black pack'.
I've been looking around at the easiest/best way to get it changed and saw an old post about somebody getting their chrome kit re-sprayed to black but wondered if there is another way or better way of doing this?
If anyone has done this in the past I'd appreciate any advice.

Left pictures below as would also be keen to hear whether you guys think black or chrome would look better.

Thanks!

Easiest and cheapest is to have all the chrome wrapped. Approx £250 and will last more than 5 years (don't know of anyone who's had this wrap past that age yet).

Sean at Xtreme Signs near Crawley has done this on quite a few F type's, including my V6 when I had it.

I've seen plastidip used too and couldn't tell. Both this and the wrap are easily removable l

I had a black f type convertible with the black pack and personally thought it was too much it needed a bit of couloir to show the lines off but it is each to their own cheers Tony.

I changed my side vents from chrome to black. Easy to do and took about 25 mins each side. Open the bonnet, remove rubber cover above vents one screw one Alan Key. Remove the 3 bolts above the vent and two from the door side . Open the door and the two bolts will be visible. Pull the wing forward and get your hands in the back and unclip the vent. Replace with the black one and put the bolts back in.

I had mine wrapped black in Exeter by Wrap Capital and it looks great! The parts don’t need to come off.

Thanks Jimmy, do you remember roughly how much that cost?

350 cash was my side silvers bits and my front grill. I already had carbon fibre kidney grills.

Can send you pics if you want!

Oh okay perfect thanks Jimmy, yeah I'd appreciate it if you could send pictures, keen to see how it looks

Looked at the Xtreme Signs website earlier. He's done a firesand orange F-type with the roof and side vents wrapped in carbon. I think, if I was doing it now, I'd have the side vents and front lip done in carbon and the grill surround and windows done normal gloss. OEM look for a fraction of the cost.

No dismantling when I had my V6 done either. A slight slither of chrome ( say 0.1mm ) under the door mirrors was pointed out to me, when I picked the car up. Due to the difficulty of cutting in with the scalpel without touching the paintwork apparently. But you really had to get right down low and look for it before you could see it.

Hi. I’m new to Forum and only 3 days into ownership finally of a V6s. I’m looking to delete chrome. I’ve read various posts, on how to do this. I’ve Spoken to a few wrap companies, they say if they wrap the side vents, the wrap will fail after time as the ‘Jaguar” lettering is indented. Has any one wrapped these with success and still look good 1 year on ? Most people seem to replace them with new black vents.

The all black thing has been done to death and I like seeing a bit of silver now (I have a P450 Plus and that's ALL black). I think I would go the other way and yes swap out the side vents to black but after that leave it and maybe even have the alloys refurbed in an alloy silver colour. You have the accents of silver on the alloys with the studs so maybe embrace the silver.
