Battery Conditioner

Has anyone had the Jaguar OEM battery conditioner fitted to their coupe?
I had one fitted to my previous V6S convertible but for some reason I’m thinking that was an easier install.
Did the dealer have to remove boot lining to install? (Don’t like the idea of that).

Thanks

I have a Ctek MX5.0 which is the same only cheaper than the Jaguar branded one.

It's very easy to connect. Bigbri published a handy photo of the connections in the following link:

The batteries are under the floor/cover on the tight hand side of the boot. It remains connected, so there's no problem with losing any settings etc. All you need to do is remove the nuts shown in the photo and drop the charger cable eyelets onto the studs. I drilled a hole in the side of the lift out underfloor boot box. The box is made of thick tough plastic, so there's not much danger of it cracking.

Do the desulphuration and conditioning functions of the Ctek make an actual difference above the simple charging functions of say an Aldi £13 charger?

My Aldi charger will charge over a day or so. Then if left on, the voltage gradually comes up from about 12.9 to about 13.4v.

My less than 2 year old V6S gradually runs down if I use the parking monitor on my dashcam and warm weather and using the car on roughly alternate days for 15 mile journies is not quite enough to keep it topped.

I think PussCat's previous owner may have not used the car enough.

So would a Ctek make an actual difference?

Yes they definitely make a difference. My previous FType (V6S) was not getting used too much throughout the winter and battery getting low. I had the jag one fitted (which is very neat) and left this to condition away. Battery perfect every time from then on.
