Auto electrician required- mirror indicator intermittent fault

Hi all,

Always enjoy taking the F type for a run in the winter sun, however it recently went for a service at Jaguar and they notice the mirror indicator LED on the passenger side works intermittently.

They asked me to come back and ordered in the LED, but turns out the LED isnt the issue. They parked the issue for today and recommended I leave the car with them next time but it is likely to be a wiring or control unit issue etc in their view. This probably means a load of diagnostics, stripping door panels etc.

The car is out of warranty so keen to avoid a guessing game at the main agent and a whole host of time if possible. Appreicate any wisdom you may be able to share. The indicator seems to flash several times then stop for 20secs or so and then come back (so perhaps unlikely to be a loose connection?).

I am therefore hoping someone may be kind enough to recommend an auto electrician in or around the north London area which may be able to help.

Thank you in advance.

Hope you didn’t have to pay for the LED if it wasn’t the issue?

As the main dealer’s hourly rates are extortionate you could try an Independent Jaguar Specialist in your area. Just enter your postcode on this link.......

Once they fitted the LED they realised it wasnt the issue and refitted the old part with no charge due to misdiagnosis.

Thank you for your suggestion, I am going to try a local auto electrician initially and hopefully it is a relatively easy fix. I will keep you all updated.
