AppleCarPlay nav. screen frozen

Left the car overnight, and this morning held the media button down for 30+ seconds, fitted a new genuine Apple cable, and “hey presto” all is working again.
My car is sensitive to the connecting cable to the iPhone, and prefers genuine ones, and the slightest ‘nip” when you close the centre locker can cause failure. I now always carry a genuine spare cable.
 
Have you tried on of the streaming boxes like ottocast and carlink? I don't tend to find I lose much battery over a 2-4hr drive.
