Can you shed any light on retrofit of Apple Car Play on existing F Types.

It's still a bit of a dog's dinner at the moment on other forums.
Lot's of confusion as to whether it's Pro only or standard ICT can be updated.
Also unclear if it's a freebie with the latest Pro update V4 or probably soon to be V5, or if it has to be paid for.
Couple of threads on it on the XE and F-Pace forums.
I think it's a kind of "watch this space" thing at the moment.

At this time, I can confirm that Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be made available for all model year 19 vehicles.

This is a question that I would like answered as well ... as all dealers Jaguar & Landrover are totally in the dark with this

Just as a example my wife has ordered a 19 model year Evoque HSE Dynamic and when we asked the question they did not have a clue !

My F Type coupe (17 plate) 18 year model .. can this be upgraded ?

I can confirm that this feature will be available on your wife’s vehicle from collection.

At this time, model year 18 vehicles will unfortunately be unable to access this feature.Your feedback has been passed to the relevant area of the business for consideration in the future.

This relates to my 2017 model year F-Pace

I have the ICT system just been updated to 4.0 but my vehicle does not have the apps or a SIM slot. I just received this from my service dealer, so according to him my Simless system will be upgraded to Apple CarPlay.

"A new Smartphone Pack is soon to be available which will provide access to Apple CarPlay and Androidauto, It will also include a software update for InControl.

I will let you know as soon as it is released and we’ll have you round for the upgrade".

Can you confirm that Apple CarPlay will be added to an April registered 18 plate MY19 F Type as a simple software update and at no cost?

Thank you for your enquiry.

I can confirm that Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be made available for all model year 19 vehicles.

Once the Software has been released your local approved retailer will be able to discuss costings in more detail should they be applied.

Unbelievable Becci from Jaguar CR is unable to answer a simple question... Will it be chargeable on MY 19?

On the UK configurator for the E Pace it is now shown as a £50 option, not shown on the F Type though.
 
I have it on my 19MY XF

Came on a over the air update via my SIM connected ICTP

I visited the dealer 2 weeks ago to have the upgrade carried out on my SVR only to be told 2 hours later that the software was not suitable even though it is a 2019 MY car - currently only available to upgrade on XJ!

Strangely, since the visit, the issues I am having with Bluetooth connection for my phone and music plus APPS and ICTP are just about unbearable - just dropped it off this morning to hoefully have it fixed.

Dealer is talking nonsense.
People on both the XE and F-Pace forums have had it installed if they have the latest "18C" ICTPro software so I don't know why they are saying only for the XJ ?
Sounds like they tried it and messed it up and made things worse.
The other problem at the moment is some people are being asked £200 for the "Smartphone Pack" which enables it and others have had it done for free.
Usual "don't know arse from elbow" JLR Job.
 
Just got my car back from the dealer - update completed and I now have CarPlay and Android auto.

The screen layout is new, much cleaner, and so far - CarPlay has worked faultlessly. The clicking / interference has stopped and the sound quality is much better so I can only assume the issues I previously had also affected sound reproduction.

Hopefully all is now fixed for good!
