Anyone have an idea what makes the noise when braking?

Every time you brake there is a creak at the front right of the car (carbon brake).

We had already taken the bike down and the car up and checked from below to make sure everything was tight.

It sounds like as if you were pulling on the handbrake on a vehicle from the 80s using a Bowden cable.

A really unpleasant noise, especially at every red light :-(

Would anyone have another idea?

Mega is actually a safe platform.

Since I can't upload an mp3 here, I packed it up.
There are only two clean mp3 files in there.

yes, we had the wheel off and the screen looks good.
I just haven't been on the brake caliper yet, so I'm always very careful.

Brake pads also look good, are still far away from the wear mark.

Vehicle has 40,000 miles.

Should I clean it with brake cleaner?

I wouldn’t go squirting brake cleaner on the ceramics unless you know it’s safe to do so in case of a reaction between them. It may be ok but I’d research first. The wheel nuts also have a three stage tightening procedure with different torque settings at each stage

Have you done any high speed braking to warm them up a bit and see if that makes any difference?

Yes, we had already tried it.

Surprisingly, whenever I wash the car and rinse the wheels with the Kärcher, I don't have this problem for the first 2km.

Hello Kev,

Can I read this somewhere, or does she have the information for me?

I only know this from Topix

Lower the jack and the wheel nuts fully tighten in the order shown.
Do not overtighten by clicking on the Wheel nut wrench stepped on or with it a rod is extended.
Take the wheel nuts with you at the next opportunity a torque wrench with 125 Nm let it tighten.
This torque must not be exceeded become.

Greetings Frank

I've now searched intensively for it on the internet.

That's probably how the workshop does it.

Tighten 4 NM by hand
Fix 70 NM with the pneumatic screwdriver
125 NM when vehicle is on the ground
