Ammonite grey with black pack!

Hi everyone<div>New guy here saying hello having just placed his order for a new V6 S due for delivery end April.</div><div>I still have the option to spec amend but currently have the combination of Ammonite grey , black pack,black 20"cyclone wheels and panoramic roof.Interior in jet with performance seats, red stitching and a sports flat bottom wheel.</div><div>I like a grey but i did find Lunar a little light and find Stratus just too dark.I am hopeful from the few images i have found online and the colour plate in the dealership that Ammonite will sit between the two....darker than Lunar but lighter than Stratus.</div><div>Does anyone have any more definitive information or images.</div><div>Overall i think i am very happy with the choices and very excited overall about the car, but would appreciate any more info.</div><div>thanks</div><div>Ian</div>
 
Hi Ian and welcome.<div> </div><div>I seem to be in the same boat as you with a car on order and in the same situation when it came to the choice of colour. I originally was going for Dark Sapphire but to my dismay found it to be far too dark when I saw a similar vehicle in the Jag showroom which looked like it was edging on black at certain light angles. My belief is to see a car in the flesh when looking for your paint choice. The last colour I was going for was the colour I picked after seeing an F Type in the workshop which was Italian Racing Red. I'm not a particular fan of a red car but after seeing the F Type in this paint scheme it appeared a rich, deep red with a lovely metallic pigment and in my opinion complimented the design. It's obviously a personal choice and I'm sure what ever colour one goes for would give satisfaction if chosen correctly.</div>
 
Hi guys - picking up my V6 coupe this afternoon - 2 weeks early <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" /> and my spec is ammonite grey so I'll post some photos onto the forum so you can see what the coluor looks like. Like you - I hadnt seen the colour in the flesh so I'm a bit nervous - but also very excited
 
Ultimately i think your right. I am not usually so indecisive about colour as i generally have black (BMW M3) but i do feel the Black Jaguar offer is not quite right for the car as there is not contrast at all between the panoramic roof and black detailing. So as we speak Ammonite it is!
 
Hi Ian and welcome to the FTOC.<div><br></div><div>The Ammonite looks lovely (not seen one in the flesh obviously, as it's part of 3 new colours introduced for the MY16 range), similar to Gun Metal Grey IMO. It shows the lines of the car off well as does Rhodium. </div><div>Blacks, including the new Berry, tend to mask the lines unfortunately.</div><div><br></div><div>I ended up with Italian Racing Red - I wasn't a red fan (Gun metal and strong Blues and Silvers are mine), that said, I'm a convert now!</div><div><br></div><div>It's so subjective and can never say which is best, as everyone sees the colour in a different hue and shade. Only real way to do it, is to see the F's in the flesh, personally if you can.</div><div><br></div><div>Good luck with the purchase, and look forward to the pics...</div>
 
Thanks Tel...have to say its still some 8 weeks away but the excitement seems to be building as everyday passes. I will be exhausted by the time it arrives at this rate!
 
so I've cancelled sky sports, my golf club membership, any thoughts of holidays abroad etc etc to pay for my F type coupe and was it worth it? Oh yes - picked it up last night and the guys at Jaguar Wolverhampton were just great. My car was under a sort of golden velvet cover with my name on a plaque in front - all very nicely done.<div>What a machine - it looks fabulous and sounds even better. </div><div> </div><div>I'm really happy with the colour - see photo below - happy days<img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley1.gif" height="17" width="17" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" /><img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/uploads/462/F_Type_1.JPG" height="525" width="700" border="0" /> </div>
 
thanks - you made a wise choice - everyone loves it - kind of understated but looks even better now the suns on it and I think it suits the car perfectly - roll on going home time so I can drive it again <img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley1.gif" height="17" width="17" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" />
 
Your welcome....i have gone for the black pack and black wheels but i think that will also contrast well against the grey well.Thats the beauty of the car in that colour...i think it works equally well with the chrome and black option!
 
Looks great - absolutely spot on. <div><br></div><div>Colour is what I was hoping to see - it complements the car perfectly. Wouldn't mind seeing some more pics if you can resist just driving it!</div><div><br></div><div>I'm insanely jealous of course, but mine seems to be moving ahead now and might be ready for the end of this month. Hi All, new F type V6 S owner here. Took delivery a week ago, Ammonite grey with cirrus interior and light grey roof lining. Looks awesome. The panoramic roof is great but must use shades in sunny conditions. Also have an xf sportbrake and its interesting learning how they behave so very differently! Can recommend Ammonite grey for the F - it looks a very classy and understated car. Archie

It's all down to personal taste but I think the black pack looks great, I'm not a fan of chrome on any car especially a sports coupe, but plenty of buyers have it. You'll love the black pack, promise :)
 
Thanks Archie...do you also have black wheels....i am running out of time before build date so would really appreciate a picture if at all possible it would help so much....sound great tho.....hope you can help. cheers ian
 
Hi Lofty....do you have any pics to share....really would love to see the Ammonite and black pack together finally.Would really go some way to putting my mind to rest. Admire your nerve ordering yours with even seeing the coupe....wish i could be calmer!!! What wheels did you go for?
