Advice please - should I buy this F type?

Hey all. I’ve hankered after an F type for a long long time and finally in a position to buy one. I have found one for sale in the spec I want but it appears to have a few issues and I’m not sure how serious they are.

First issue - under the oil cap there is a small amount of milky residue. Car has been on a dealer forecourt since November which maybe related. Is this normal or should I be worried?

Second issue - centre vents don’t rise, vendor has agreed to fix this.

Third issue - it wasn’t raining today but they had clearly just washed the car in anticipation of my arrival. There was some water leaking from the drivers side front of the roof (convertible), perhaps trapped in the front part of the roof itself. More than just a drop too. Is this common/ a big problem? The vendor claims they will fix this but that is much harder to verify than the vents for example unless I turn up with a watering can! Help appreciated.

On the positive side it looks great and on the test drive - OMG! I love these things you are so lucky to own one.

That is car 45212.

From 21st Dec 2016, started life in Essex, then Surrey, Slough and then Kent. It should had 6 oil changes by now but has only had 4. The last service was 5th Nov 2011 but there is a red box saying retailer updated which I've never seen before. Currently overdue a service and no details of whether it has had other service items done such as plugs, diff oil etc.

The car appears online for sale multiple times in the last 5 months and appears to have changed hands a few times.

Regarding the three issues.

Milky residue under the oil cap - that might indicate an issue. I would get a full mechanical inspection done especially with limited service history.

Centre vents - yes that is common and easy fixed.

Leaking roofs - not come across that one before. Leaking boots, yes, leaking roofs no. Make sure the roof goes fully up and down multiple times with no issues.

The issue I've seen reported a few times is that the drains in the roof "storage area" get blocked resulting in the area filling with water and destroying the motors.

Wow this is so amazingly helpful! Thank you! Seems like I should pass on this one and continue the search. Want to find a keeper - we’ll miss these when they are gone!

Thank you - another reason to pass on this one but the search continues!
