About to buy used V6. History advice.

Hi everyone

I'm about to buy my first F-type. I've been to look at a few both v6 S and non S.

This particular one... 2015 V6 Coupe. Has the updated dash and Infotainment system plus quite a few extra. Heated steering wheel, panoramic roof, electric tailgate, etc.

It's from an independent dealer. Who provide extended warranty cover from AutoProtect. So any advice on this would be good.

I was told when Introduced myself here that there maybe someone here that can provide a History check on it.
The reg is LF15EWE.

I have the link for the online service history so will check that.
Any thanks

From a newbie ;-)

I've just been online and checked the service history.

Does this look problematic as there is a gap between the 64k and 112K services, with only an Independent dealer in-between. The Independent being the dealer that sold the car back in 2021. Which is now back with them to sell again now?

Thanks

Has the updated dash
This means the car is a Model Year 2016 which is a good thing as a few parts reliablility issues were revised.

The gaps in service history at this time were not unusal as during the pandemic people were not allowed to go out as so we're not using thier cars, well not their weekend cars anyway, but what I would be worried about is the spark plug change at 80k, is there any evidence a spark plug change has been done? they can be a pain as they seize into the head.

Car 23271

The car originally shipped with 18" silver wheels but now appears to sit on a different and larger set of black wheels.

The car has no recorded MOT in 2020 and hence the missing service record I presume. There is only 3,000 miles recorded between 19th Sept 2019 and 29th July 2021 which appears to be roughly when the wheels were changed.

It therefore appears the car was off the road, unused or outside of the UK. I would get a full independent check completed before proceeding.

Many thanks for taking your time to check this for me, much appreciated. Will get a full check done before moving forward. :)

I have a 2015 v6s. I changed the plugs a couple of weeks ago. Mine is on 27k miles. Plugs came out without issue. And access is excellent once you get the coil packs off.

Personally, I wouldn't particularly worry about the missing annual service as the mileage over the 2 years is so low. Others may be more fussy about having a full Jaguar service history. Maybe you can use it as a bargaining point!

Hi @simpleR ,

I never got this sale in the end as the dealer was too vague with information and then sold to another. I've just sent you a private message about 2 other cars but the message is sitting under outbox so not sure if that means sent or not. Let me know if you have received it. Many Thanks Phil

It sits there until the recipient reads it, then it moves to "Sent".
