Looking to get my recently purchased 19 plate 380 awd serviced.
it'll be the 60 month / 5 year service which is a basic service plus spark plug change.

I tried to get an online quote using the jaguar portal but it wouldn't pickup my car reg so unable too.
On calling a jag dealer they quoted about £590 , another £620 , do these prices sound about right for what is basically an oil change and spark plug fitting?

secondly, i also called a jag independant, their equivilent service quote was for £680 , is it normal for a indy to be more expensive thank a main dealer?

Call the main servicing booking number if you want to go to a Jag main dealer. Tell them you looked it up online. Lie.

The price for your 80k miles 5yr service is £568.83.
And will include.
Filter-oil
Spark plug
Fluid-screen
3+ promotional oil

(Cheaper than normal due to oil promotion currently running and 3+ yr servicing deal).

And if it requires an MOT tell them another offer is running and that is £40 at the moment.

great, thanks for the info, was this info freely available on a online?

It should be on Jaguar Servicing online but your reg is not recognised. Typically this is when the last service was completed when car was on another plate but yours has only ever been on its original plate so I used another V6 MY19 P380 AWD next to your build number to check.

Ah! Must be a different schedule for my P450 AWD then. Sorry chaps. Just noticed my next service will be over £1200!!

Thanks simpleR! I’ve been trying to look at 6 year service costs for my MY19 R but it never recognises the plate, and this explains it - previous owners had it on a private plate.

Tried calling jaguar service today, all I could find was the generic customer services 0345 303 2303 tel no.
According to them they are not able to book a service directly and so don't have standard prices .
They suggested the only way to book a service is to call dealarships directly ,

That is correct. Jaguar themselves won't help.

Perhaps my post was unclear.

I ment to call the main booking number for the dealer you were discussing the price with. IE group1, Marshals etc etc.

thanks simpleR , understood !

Called another independent jaguar garage, they are the 2nd indie to suggest i dont renew the spark plugs as the car has only cover 23k ,
i'm really undecided to take their advice or not, i see the reasoning beind leaving the spark plugs but having this aspect missing from the service history is a concern for a future sale.

Interestingly the 6 year service is £15 cheaper booking online through Marshalls Newbury (and they can detect the car from its current registration plate) than the direct Jaguar prices.

Does anyone know what the 'Environmental Charge' that is automatically selected is? It's only £9.95 and you can deselected it, but I have no idea what it means!

It's a way of extracting more money from your wallet.

Being serious for a second, I think its a charge to cover the disposal of oils etc. These things are a cost to the business and should not be charged on to the customer like this. By all means add it to the labour charge or something else but I personally detest all these add-ons as it makes them look like they more interested in their bill than the customer.

What's the general thoughts on the spark plugs renewal then ,
Get the spark plugs renewed at a cost of about £250 on a car that's only done 23k , or leave them alone and just go for the oil change service?

I’d change them for 3 reasons:

Service record will always be impaired.
Dealers may refuse to upload to OSH as due service not completed. Indy’s may do it.
They are prone to seizing in cylinders, so I’d have them loosened and given labour to do so, then change anyway.
